The Healthcare Otago Charitable Trust encourages the development of health-related research in Otago by providing funds for academic research support. The Trust funds research grants based on the recommendation from the assessment committee at the University of Otago.
Grants are provided through the University of Otago for health-related research projects, in any field relevant to human health. Note that the Trust gives preference to graduates with a proven record of research productivity and access to suitable facilities for their research.
Applications can be accepted at any time, but the main grant round is in November each year. The dates of the 2018 funding round will be published on this website and through the media.
Applications should be made through the University of Otago. Alternatively, the Trust will accept applications for research grants that benefit the Otago region but that are unrelated to the University.
