The Trust funds community grants based on the quality and needs of the applications received each year. Each application is considered on its own merits and its potential value to the community.
Applications can be accepted at any time, but the main community grant round is in March/April each year. The dates of each round will be published on this website and through the media. Preference is given to organisations that have not received funding in the last 24 months, but this is at the discretion of the trustees. Applicants are notified of the trustees' decision in writing after the application has been considered.
Note: the Trust does not support commercial costs, political parties or lobby groups, repayment of debt, or projects considered to the core operations of government, district health boards or clinics.
Any grant made should be spent within 12 months, for the charitable purpose agreed upon with the Trust, otherwise the donation becomes repayable. The Trust will consider submissions for an extension of time.
